Who and where can I tutor?

Reading failure touches everyone. 36 million adults can’t read. 8 million students in regular education can’t read for meaning on their grade level. An additional 6 million special needs students are virtual non-readers. And this is just the start. Frankly, there isn’t a parent or grandparent in your neighborhood who doesn’t know a friend or relative who is seeking your service. In other words, the need for a fast-acting research-based reading program is in every neighborhood. The need is great, and you will be using the nation’s best reading solution.

Even better, you can provide this service from anywhere with an internet connection – your home, an office, your local library, the parent’s house, or even online.

How do I determine the rates that I charge?

Our research has shown that $25.00 per hour is a consistent average, however, tutoring rates will ultimately be based on factors such as:

  • 1. Tutor's Credentials.
  • 2. Comparison of tutoring rates for your local area.

Online research is recommended, as well as any information that you can gather from local tutoring agencies and community centers in your area. Specific links and some additional ideas for setting rates will be reviewed in the course.

What can I charge or what will I make?

You will charge by the hour. You will determine both the number of hours and the number of students you will work and serve.

Our research has shown that $25 – $40.00 per hour is a consistent average, however, tutoring rates will ultimately be based on factors such as:

  • 1. The rates in your neighborhood.
  • 2. The level of severity of your client. Generally speaking, nonreaders and special needs students (students with autism, dyslexia, learning disabilities, etc.) command a higher rate.

Fortunately, our intervention works best with these students.

What is my upfront cost?

Here is the good news. Your upfront costs are extremely reasonable. Frankly, you will completely cover these costs within the first few tutoring sessions. After, that all the funds you earn are yours. The only additional costs will be the fee to add new online student licenses.

Who should I market my services to?

  • • Parents/Guardians/Organizations that have Students with Autism.
  • • Parents/Guardians/Organizations that have Students that are Cognitively Challenged/Down Syndrome.
